Short summary
Contrasting mobility of dry granular flows over erodible beds remains poorly understood. We experimentally investigate erosion, flow evolution, and deposition across bed materials with contrasting solid particle densities. Low-density beds show stronger erosion and longer runout, whereas equal- and high-density beds show similar, shallower erosion and shorter runout. The results show that mobility reflects interacting material properties rather than density contrasts alone.
