Tenerife faces multiple natural hazards, including volcanic eruptions, floods, and landslides. Our study compiles over 500 years of historical data to identify patterns and vulnerabilities, providing key insights for improving natural risk prevention and management. This dataset helps decision-makers understand hazard risks and develop better mitigation strategies. Our approach serves as a model for other regions to enhance long-term natural risk resilience.

Short summary
We built a dataset of natural hazard events (earthquakes, floods, landslides, rockfalls, ground subsidence, and wildfires) in the Garrotxa region (Spain) covering 1900–2023. It includes 1,049 events retrieved from official records, newspaper articles, scientific studies, and oral testimonies. The data show links between some hazards and provide more local detail than existing databases, helping improve risk understanding and planning, and providing a framework for multi-hazard risk analysis.
